The Central Electric Board of Directors has approved a capital credit general retirement of $400,000. This year your cooperative will be distributing these funds a little differently. Instead of issuing checks, the refund will now be issued as a credit on your December bill. By doing this, your member-owned cooperative will save the cost of printing and mailing checks. Inactive members will still receive a check.
For those of you with multiple accounts the credit will be applied to the account with the lowest sub account number. Example: If your account is 1234-001, 1234-002 and 1234-003, the capital credits will be applied to the 1234-001 account.
As a customer of Central Electric you realize the benefit of being electric cooperative members when you receive a portion of the cooperative’s margins as a credit on your bill. That’s something the customers of an investor-owned utility would never see.
Remember to keep a copy of this bill for your records.
