Basin Electric Power Cooperative and Central Electric Cooperative are pleased to announce that Karter Weber of Plankinton has been selected to receive a $1,000 Basin Electric Power Cooperative Employee Dependent Scholarship.

Weber is one of only 20 students chosen from across Basin Electric’s nine-state service area to receive this prestigious award. He plans to study Power Line Construction and Maintenance at Mitchell Technical College. He is the son of Rodney and Kelli Weber of Plankinton. Rodney is a Lead Journeyman Electrician at Central Electric.

Central Electric receives power from Basin Electric, a regional generation and transmission cooperative based in North Dakota. The employee dependent scholarship program is designed to support the educational goals of children and legal dependents of employees working for Basin Electric member cooperatives.
